Canon 40D

In my travels to fix my total lens failure I came upon the Canon 40D in my local shop. Not yet on display and a brand new release from Canon, I asked the clerk when it would be out. He said, "we actually have it." I picked er up. This is a rig I waited for, for a long time. So, most shots from now on will be from this camera. Pretty awesome piece of equipment.

In conclusion. Total lens failure was not total lens failure at all. I went to the camera store to get a new filter to replace the one that I was using that was given to me by my father. Thanks for the thought Dad. That's what counts! I had shot a wedding with the lens in question without the filter in question with zero problems and thought to myself that the filter could be throwing off my lens. And to my surprise... An old filter it was. Perhaps pre digital age. Problem solved and a new camera. This one I will not out grow for a couple years. Actually, I made a promise that I would not outgrow it for a couple of years. So, I owe it to Sue for putting up with my purchase and understanding my love for photography. Looking forward to continuing this blog with many great shots from this camera, working lens, and new filter.

That's great, that you have a new camera AND your lens is working just fine! So, it was the filter that was throwing it off. Hmmm, sounds suspicious. i know how your dad envies some of your equipment! I'd keep an eye out on that guy who knows what tricks he has up his sleeves!

Certainly looks like the Canon 40D is an impressive camera. I just got a Fujifilm S9600, which is like an SLR without changeable lenses, and it is great!
