Moving On - Chandelier

Moving On

With our current house on the market and a camera in my hand, I hope to take some time here and there to document what once was. I'll post some of what I collect here and also some on wjwphotography.com. The goal being to end up with some good memories of the place I met Sue and Kayla, where Ava has spent the majority of her first 2 years, where Cooper loves afternoon walks, and where I have done some changing myself.

A Great Thing Being Done

The following is an email I received from a friend of the family, Tanya, earlier today.

"Dear Friends and Family,

This year my resolution was to do more good, and to continue a healthy lifestyle. With that in mind I signed up for the weekend of July 7-8, 2007 to walk almost 40 miles with thousands of other men and women to help find that cure for breast cancer. We will sleep in tents, take showers in trucks, walk a marathon one day and a half marathon the next. We have committed to the training and fundraising required to participate in this life changing event known as the Avon Breast Cancer Walk. The net proceeds from this event (and others across America) will support non-profit breast health programs, as well as medical research to help find a cure for breast cancer.

The reason I find this to be so important is:

This year, over 180,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
Over 40,000 will die.
Each of us has known someone who has been affected, in some way, due to Breast Cancer.

I hope that you’ll be a supporter with me in this effort.

Each walker must commit to raising at least $1800, but my personal goal is $2000. Maybe I am crazy--but if this is what it takes to find a cure, and help our many friends and family who are breast cancer survivors—I will be there!

Would you please make a fully tax-deductible donation to help with meeting the goal?
To make your donation go on-line at:

or
To make your donation via check please make Checks Payable To: The Avon Foundation Participant Number 752758 Coupon Number 7500035303
Mail Check directly to me, so I can submit with all my information.

"You can make a single donation or spread your contribution over several months. I would like to personally thank each one of you for joining us in this fight.

It is not a pleasant thought, but in the time it has taken you to read this, another woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States.

Please help in changing that statistic.

Thank you,

Tanya Barron"

Playoffs

Well, it's that time of year, one of my favorite times. NBA Playoffs. Tonight is game two of Lakers vs. Suns with the Lakers down 0-1 games. I gotta say, Kobe had a spectacular first half in the first game but there was no stopping Phoenix in the 3rd. The Lakers may not have it this year, but I will watch them through this! More importantly, this goes out to all my Kings fans friends. Yet another apology for the Lakers still being better than the Kings, year after year!

Ahh, Springtime II

Yes, this was taken today. Lassen Volcanic Park is the location. Got caught up driving through a BLIZZARD this morning! Thank god for four wheel drive, I would have been stuck, stranded, and our of luck. This place was desolate. Glad to be back home now where the sky is partly cloudy with a temp in the mid 60's.

We're Back

A fantastic weekend in San Jose. The first SJPD test is out of the way and we got to hang out with some great people. Thanks everyone for the hospitality etc. especially Denise for letting us stay at her place. While we were in the area we stopped in to the local Apple Store. With both mine and Sue's laptops on the fritz we decided to leave the PC behind and picked up a very nice MacBook Pro. So far I am extremely impressed with this machine. I am looking forward to diving into it a bit more over the next few days. We'll see how all my photo stuff acts. Any tips or tricks are welcome here. I have never used one of these.

San Jose

Well, it's off to San Jose again. This time relates back to submitting interest in the San Jose Police Department. I have been scheduled to attend a personal history test this evening. So, along with the CHP I will dive into this. I will follow up this evening with the day off tomorrow, spend some time site seeing and meet up with the old man. Meet Ava's Great Grandmother, Carrie. I know the finger in the nose thing again. Have a great weekend!

Very First Egg Hunt

As Grandma and Sue were hiding eggs throughout the back yard, I wondered how Ava would grasp this concept. We handed her a little basket, pointed a finger at an egg, and off she went. The fact that the eggs were void of any prize what so ever had no impact on this experience. Ava had so much fun, we had to re-hide eggs as she found them to avoid the very serious look of disappointment that the fun may be over. Again, Happy Easter everyone! On that note, enjoy one more nose picking picture.

Happy Easter
