Sacramento Zoo

Today, was Ava's first trip to the zoo. Out of all the animals, the reptile house was her favorite. She was trying to say hello to all the snakes, frogs, crocs, etc. Very cute. The zoo is small and most of the animals were asleep while we were there, but it was fun. I'll post a few more pictures from the afternoon.

Santa Cruz Weekend

Thanks to Marissa and Christian for letting us stay at their place. This was my first trip to Santa Cruz. Saturday was a pretty gloomy day and Ava burned her hand on a stove. Ouch!! All her little fingers are blistered over. I haven't seen her cry for 2 hours straight before and I have never felt so helpless, but eventually she wore herself out and did sleep through the entire night. Christian took me surfing Sunday. This was pretty much my first time on a surfboard and I gotta say it was totally tubular. Can't wait to do it again.

Gone for the Weekend

Sue and I will be off to Santa Cruz for the weekend. Kayla is with her dad and we will be traveling with Ava and Cooper. Looking forward to some beach, sun, fun, and some time away from the house with Sue. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

It WAS a Windy Day

Just getting back from a trip to Reno again. Thought I'd share what I saw from outside my window at the Eldorado. Now usually these guys have these platforms that lower down the side of a building, but this guy was pretty much rappeling. Who actually applies for these jobs?

A Walk

That Kayla sure likes to go on walks. I know, lets go on a walk and take some pictures. I put a cheap, little digital in her hands and immediately she began shooting off some macros of flowers. She led me all the way down the street to her school where we went on the nature trail and took some more pictures. Kayla got some great shots-for someone who has never used a camera, they were awesome. But most importantly I think Kayla and I found something that we both like to do in a combined sense. I will post some of her first work shortly along with a few good ones from the day on wjwphotography.
